Yorkshire Ambulance Service appoints Bellis-Jones Hill for costing

Following a competitive tendering process, Bellis-Jones Hill is delighted to announce it has been appointed by Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust to implement our Prodacapo costing system.  This will provide cost granularity down to incident/patient level across the Service and position the Trust to meet the costing requirements of Monitor’s Costing Transformation Programme. It will also make Yorkshire Ambulance Service possibly the first in the NHS to have this costing capability.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust was formed on 1 July 2006 when the county’s three former services merged. It covers almost 6,000 square miles of varied terrain, employs over 4,670 staff and provides 24-hour emergency and healthcare services to a population of more than five million.

Director Robin Bellis-Jones says “this is an exciting opportunity as we already provide our Prodacapo costing solution for Patient Level Costing at many Acute, Mental Health and Community Trusts and will harness this experience and our costing expertise to help the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to take a leading role in the development of costing in ambulance services in the NHS”.
